Plastik Magazine
Brand Identity
Plastik, the renowned Lebanese magazine founded in 2009 by Eli Rezkallah, faced a branding challenge. The brand encompasses several distinct entities—Studios, Magazine, Gallery, and Shop—each with its own visual identity. The need was clear: unify these entities while modernizing and simplifying the overall visual brand to ensure Plastik's offerings not only resonate but also stand out in a competitive newsstand environment.
In response, I played a key role in a project led by YummyColours to create a cohesive world that encapsulated all Plastik brands. We developed a flexible system that balanced structure with playfulness, using modular designs that allow for diverse icon treatments and vibrant color combinations. Each Plastik sub-brand was assigned a specific color to enhance its recognizability. Additionally, we modernized the brand with a simpler, clearer font in lowercase to maintain Plastik’s friendly and approachable vibe. This strategic redesign effectively unified Plastik’s diverse offerings, allowing their work to shine brightly in a crowded market.
